Our separation from the natural environment is an illusion of modern culture. We depend on the Planet for everything: breathe, feed, shelter, dress, warm, move ... Our bodies are made of the same matter-energy as the Earth. Its minerals, air and water, are our bones, breath and blood. So, by moving away from nature we are moving away from ourselves.

The workshops are active, practical, introspective and experiential sessions. An opportunity to relate the concepts explored in the workshop to your own life experiences, and incorporate the essential practices of Green Pedagogy. They invite you to delve deeper into the care of children, and all forms of life on the planet and to see it as an adventure and opportunity for mutual growth, a common learning of responsibility and coexistence. Depending on their duration, they offer different levels of involvement and in depth exploration of the topics discussed: .Conference-workshop (2 to 4 hours) . One day workshop (8 hours) Residential or semi-residential workshop (day and a half) Immersion (from two days onwards, depending on the objectives and type of group).

Conversation Weaving

In the hyper-productive and ultra-effective world in which we live, forgetting the art of conversation, some times it is even considered a waste of time. Open and sincere dialogue, with no particular objective, that respects our differences, is the only possible remedy for the crisis of empathy that we suffer. Conversation Weaving aims to recover the most natural human communication. While the usual conference leaves comments and questions to the end (and, often, time is scarce) this proposal begins, precisely, with several questions which are put to the audience who form a circle. These constitute the plot of a spinning and woven colloquium by the audience themselves, following the principle of collective construction of knowledge, by Paolo Freire. Each person is involved “wholly”, with their entire being, in a work of profound listening to  themselves and others, which brings to the surface deep thoughts and knowledge, feelings, emotions, images, memories and experiences. The words “winged,” Homer said, are “spun,” in a meaningful group creation that leaves the participants impregnated with much more than ideas, advice and recommendations.
ONLY AVAILABLE FOR GROUPS OF CERTAIN SIZES.

Learning with Green Pedagogy

The natural environment offers us unique and irreplaceable tools for learning; outdoor environments multiply opportunities for sensory and motor development, observation and discovery, surprise, magic, mystery, trust, cooperation … They favor curiosity, motivation, risk management and autonomy. In addition, they provide numerous examples of ethical behavior which help us cultivate the attitudes and values of love for the earth and all the beings that inhabit it. By recognizing these experiences in their own history, recalling and reactivating their childhood memories, educators become aware of the advantages of performing their work outdoors, and feel motivated to start these new practices. Scheduling and planing work sessions at outdoors, at any educational stage, is simpler and more rewarding than you can imagine. The teachers and professors who dare to try it, usually “get hooked” and repeat. And, as Seneca said: “We do not dare to do many things because we say they are difficult, but they are difficult because we do not dare to do them.” After this workshop you will dare.

Spaces Alive: How to Design Them

Starting from the analysis of the authentic needs of children and young people, the participants reflect on the role of the nearby environment in the development and learning of their pupils. They use observational tools, documentation, interviews and other individual and group dynamics, to identify the characteristics and uses of the outdoor spaces of their schools. According to the information and data collected, the participants create a mock-up design of a natural learning environment adapted to these spaces, with its objectives, contents and accompaniment methods. The spatial, material, recreational, educational and curricular aspects are studied, as well as their organization, preparation, programming and evaluation, as well as the main challenges and how to overcome them.

Magic childhoods

The first years of life are a magical time in which the foundation of a present and attentive human being, imaginative, creative, committed, supportive, available for others and capable of being alone with themselves is laid. Magic is everything that happens regardless of our will, the unexpected, which cannot be programmed or controlled. In order to appreciate it, we need lots of sensitivity, openness, innocence and confidence. Nature contact, together with a respectful accompaniment, by an education professional that can appropriately mesure the rhythms and abilities of development, allows us to attend differently to the specific needs of each creature, which facilitates the attention to diversity, prevents exclusion and provides a solid basis for integral growth, in the delicate dawn of our existence.

The Place of the Screen

In childhood and adolescence, technology can bring great benefits, and also cause serious issues. Between a passive and consumerist attitude of “everything goes”, and the complete rejection of the screens, each family and each school can find the place where they feel safe. This workshop helps you find answers to questions such as: Are all screens the same? What effects can prolonged exposure have on physical, motor, sensory, emotional, social and intellectual development? What benefits do they provide? What kind of skills and abilities do they help you develop? What risks do they pose at different stages of child and adolescent development? Can their negative effects be compensated? What kind of learning do they provide? Is it necessary to limit the time of use? How much according to the device and the age of the creature? How and when to use them at school? Is it advisable to reward or punish with these devices?

Nursing Life

A unique experience, specifically designed to strengthen family ties, while opening to the natural world our sensibility, our imagination and our emotions. This is an opportunity to experience and transmit a positive relationship of care and love towards all forms of life on our wonderful planet. Generally, we learn to connect with our sons and daughters in spaces that are vetoed, and, when the time comes, applying theory to real situations can be complicated. In the hyper-active world we live in, enjoying privileged moments of encounter and play, with children, is essential for strengthening our ties and growing together. Nature and the expert accompaniment of Heike Freire offer us a special environment, where young and old can live together in a more intimate and relaxed way, without the pressures of daily life, nor the need to assume a predetermined role.

Autonomy and Responsibility

The desire to make decisions, act by your own means and develop in life, appears very early in the human being. Although fragile and dependent, most children and young people want to feel capable of doing things for themselves, according to their possibilities. Instinctively they know that learning to make decisions and making choices for themselves is the only way to build an authentic identity, to strengthen their sense of self. Although many times they are wrong, or are not very sure of the decisions they make. Although their parents, mothers, caregivers, teachers, friends … sometimes they don’t understand them, or don’t even like the decisions. Only then can they know who they are, and develop their sense of responsibility. Accompanying them in the exercise of their freedom and in connection with their innate wisdom, is the best preparation we can give them for their present and future life. They need it to grow healthy and happy, with self-confidence, self-love, security and confidence in their own resources and capabilities.

Love the Earth

Families and educators strive for children to integrate properly into our society and culture. But, What do we do to properly care for and accompany them in their nature? How do we help them strengthen their love for the Earth and the beings that inhabit it? How do we avoid transmitting biophobic attitudes? What helps us feel, think, connect with one another and act in a biocentric way? How do we accompany childhood and adolescence in environments that are not merely decorated, but are alive? How do we build spaces and proposals that favor deep connection with nature? What does it mean to perceive your innate wisdom? How do we further deepen our own link with the Planet? This residential workshop traces the foundations and tools of a pedagogy based on life. In addition to concepts, it allows you to become aware of your own physical, mental, emotional and psycho-spiritual relationship with Nature. An indispensable knowledge to accompany other people.
